~This is a brown wool fabric Christmas stocking, with a very fine red windowpane plaid running through it.
~It has a gray wool wolf standing among the pine trees, which are made of dark green wool and plaid green wool.
~The wolf is “howling” at the moon made from light gray wool fabric. The “snow flurries” are made from vintage white buttons.
~The wool fabric trees, wolf, moon and buttons are all hand sewn onto a brown herringbone and red windowpane plaid wool using embroidery floss.
~The backing fabric is the same as the front.
~The stocking is lined with muslin fabric.
~The cuff is made with cotton batting, which is tea-dyed by hand.
~A heavy jute twine loop makes it ready to hang.
~Fusible interfacing is added to the body of the stocking to give it durability.
~The stocking is handmade by me, in the north woods of Maine.
